What’s Changing?
As technology changes, so do we. To ensure you benefit from the latest, most secure, and convenient methods of receiving important ATO correspondence, we’re transitioning to the ATO SmartDocs Vault for electronic document delivery and sharing. Instead of receiving documents as email attachments, you will now access them through a secure online Vault. You can also securely send Power Tynan documents, a great alternative to email!
How It Works
Permanent Access Link- You will receive an email containing your unique Vault link. This link is permanent, so we recommend bookmarking it in your browser for quick and ongoing access. You no longer need to retain the original email.
Secure Login- To access your Vault, simply click the link in your email and then select ‘Get Access Code’.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)- A one-time PIN will be sent to the mobile number you have registered with us. This added layer of security helps protect your personal information.
Easy Access- Each time we upload a new document, you will receive an email notification. Use your bookmarked link, or the link to log in and retrieve your files securely with a fresh PIN with the 'Get Access Code' button.
Effortless Login Alternative
Access Via Authenticator- Don’t like PINs or living overseas and don’t have access to SMS? No problem! Setting up the authenticator is simple. After your first login, simply scan a QR code to enable this option—quick, easy, and secure.
Why the Change?
Centralised Access- Your SmartDocs Vault will store all documents previously sent by email in one secure location.
Improved Security- Two-factor authentication significantly enhances document protection.
Two-Way Sharing- You can also upload documents to us, similar to a drop-box system—making document exchange easy and secure. This is a secure way to send us your sensitive tax information, and is preferred over email.
When Will This Happen?
This transition will take effect on the 14th of July 2025.
